Admissions Process

Piney Ridge Center was established in order to better serve the needs of children and adolescents with sexual behavior problems. Our highly structured behavioral management program assists residents in gauging their treatment and progress.

Who We Treat

Piney Ridge Treatment Center is a residential treatment center that treats children and adolescents ages 7 through 17 for sexually maladaptive behaviors compounded by mental health disorders. Our treatment approaches are designed to treat both the deviant sexual behaviors and the mental health disorder with equal importance to allow for the greatest success among our residents. Piney Ridge Center also operates an off-site group home for adolescent males between the ages of 12 and 17 called Ridgeview Group Home. Ridgeview is designed to slowly reintegrate our residents back into society by using a variety of treatment approaches including family, individual, and group therapy combined with life skills training.

Assessments

Piney Ridge Center offers free mobile assessments, and confidential screenings at our treatment center to anyone who may be in need of our services. A member of our needs assessment team will conduct an in-person assessment to determine if residential treatment at Piney Ridge Center is necessary. These assessments are performed by a mental health professional from our center or other assessments done by outside mental health professionals who have experience treating children and teens with sexual behavior problems may be accepted to determine the appropriateness of residential treatment.

Referrals

Referrals can be made directly to our center, and if possible, a referral packet should include the following information to allow us to best understand the client’s needs:

  • Psychiatric evaluations
  • Psychological evaluations
  • Medical history and physical
  • Individual Education Plan (IEP)
  • Prior treatment history
  • Relevant progress documentation

Once a referral has been received by our admissions department, it is assigned to a community liaison and/or mobile assessor. They will then set up a time to meet with the guardian or parent to sign consents for any previous records needed to complete the assessment. Once the assessment is completed and the client meets the criteria for assessment, prior authorization is submitted. Once approved, the admission is scheduled.

We accept admissions every day of the week and work to accommodate work and familial obligations as we schedule the resident’s admission. Upon admission, the family or guardian will be given specific information including the resident’s assigned therapist, psychiatrist, and other key members of his or her treatment team.
